Screen – Wireless Security

Wireless security helps keep uninvited people from connecting to your network, so it’s important to use the highest level of security possible. Here are the current options:

  • WEP – An older security protocol that’s easily broken by hackers.
  • WPA – Another older protocol that’s no longer considered secure.
  • WPA2 – Currently, the best choice for wireless security.
  • WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup) is used by many router vendors to make the task of setting up home Wi-Fi easier. Unfortunately, hackers can break into routers where WPS is turned on, so it should be turned off it possible.
